Q-SWITCHED ND-YAG LASER

WHAT IS THE BLACK DOLL FACIAL?

Black doll facial is often referred to as “Carbon Laser Skin Rejuvenation”, this type of skin treatment is a non-invasive, and pain-free treatment. That is great for minor skin problems and gives you that glow that you desire. It comes from a state of the art Q-switched Nd-Yag laser machine. This machine works wonders on your skin by producing short. high-intensity pulses of light in order to destroy dirt that may be clogging up your pores. First, your face is cleaned and lotion is applied.  Staff at NuFaceGlow will use a carbon lotion that acts as a photo enhancer. The lotion helps with the rapid intensity of the treatment and really focuses on the debris. that is causing your clogged pores. The laser light is absorbed by the black particles of carbon which will be released with the dead layer of skin.

” Charcoal-Black Doll Facial Laser Treatment works by coating a medical grade of carbon nano-particles powder on your face. and together with an advanced, carefully modulated laser, it will create a concentrated carbon particle blast on your skin!!

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

The good news is that it only takes about 10 to 15 minutes when it is done by the pros at NuFaceGlow. Also, there is no down time for this treatment! You can go back to your normal life as soon as you walk out of the door which is very convenient. Although this treatment is very quick, if you want noticeably brighter and clearer skin, you will need to have a series of 4 to 6 treatments. WHAT IS A YAG LASER TREATMENT?

YAG lasers are primarily used for laser resurfacing of the skin, which means they can treat everything from wrinkles and visible veins to discoloration and scars. They’re also used for laser hair removal and tattoo removal. YAG laser treatments penetrates the skin’s surface, and the energy generates heat to destroy old cells, stimulate collagen production, and tighten and smooth from the inside out.

There are two types of YAG lasers.

YAG lasers are also called erbium lasers, and they’re used for skin resurfacing, wrinkles, and collagen loss. The Er:YAG is an ablative laser, so you can expect an intense session where the surface layer of your skin is removed in order to stimulate healing while heat fires up collagen production.

You’ll begin the treatment with local anesthetic to numb your skin and possibly sedation. Your doctor applies the ablative laser to remove the outer layer of your skin and heat the inner layers, triggering your body’s natural healing response. This can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours, depending on the area.

Afterward, your doctor will apply a thick ointment and often a dressing (gauze or bandages) to discourage infection. You’ll need a ride home, especially if you’ve been sedated.

Nd:YAG lasers are used to treat vascular lesions, for hair removal, and in its very short-pulsed mode, tattoo removal. They can also be used for some noninvasive skin rejuvenation. Nd:YAG is a nonablative laser, which means the top surface of your skin is left intact, while the laser heats only the lower layer.

Your doctor will apply a numbing cream to your face. Some people prefer additional pain medication as well (either over-the-counter or a prescription like Valium). Once your face is numb, your doctor applies a water-based gel to protect the skin before gliding the laser across the area. This can take 15 minutes to two hours, dependent on the extent of work you’ve requested.

A week before a YAG treatment, you’ll need to stop using any retinols, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic or salicylic acids or astringents, since these can irritate the skin when coupled with a laser. If you have cold sores, your doctor will prescribe an antiviral medication prior to your treatment as well as an antibiotic.

Some superficial, nonablative procedures will be healed in three days, whereas deeper procedures with an ablative laser, to remove fine lines, blotchy pigmentation, superficial wrinkles, and superficial acne scars, may take around 10 days—and that's assuming everything heals as expected and there are no complications, like infection or delayed healing.”

WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS OF THE YAG LASER?

PROS

  • Many patients report only mild to moderate discomfort during either type of laser treatment.
  • Side effects are rarely serious and include redness, mild swelling, and puffiness.
  • The Er:YAG laser is also effective for improving the appearance of acne scarring and pigment conditions such as melasma.
  • Er:YAG laser treatments don’t interfere with existing dermal fillers.
  • The Nd:YAG can remove hair on deep skin tones: The YAG laser is the best option for African American skin for hair removal. Any other-wavelength laser could potentially cause permanent skin discoloration or hypopigmentation.

CONS

  • The Er:YAG laser requires about a week of downtime, and your skin could look red for several weeks or even months after your procedure.
  • YAG lasers carry the risk of postinflammatory hyperpigmentation (pigmented spots on the area treated).
  • As with most laser hair removal, the Nd:YAG laser will not remove red, blonde, or gray hair.
  • Lasers aren’t recommended for women who are pregnant or planning to get pregnant.
  • Like ablative laser resurfacing, a nonablative treatment may trigger the herpes virus. Your doctor can prescribe an antiviral medication if you’re at risk.
